Mangaluru: As digital payment usage is increasing in the country, Mangaluru city corporation on Monday launched a portal facilitating online payment of property tax for its citizens.

City Mayor Premananda Shetty, alongside city corporation commissioner Akshy Sridhar, MLAs D Vedavyasa Kamath and Dr Y Bharath Shetty launched the application — at a press conference here.

The Mayor said that the portal is user-friendly and will offer convenience to the public as they can now pay property taxes from the comforts of their home apart from verifying property and payment details.

Citizens paying taxes via online services will receive entire details of past and upcoming payments, he added.
