MLA Sunil Kumar talks with forest minister over deemed forest issue

Karkala: Karkala MLA V Sunil Kumar on Thursday held talks with State’s Forest Minister Aravind Limbavali over resolving the deemed forest issue in his constituency.

Kumar told the minister that the issue of deemed forest areas has become a problem for many government projects, Akrama Sakrama land grants and issuance of 94C and 94CC documents to homes built on government land in urban and rural areas in his constituency.

Kumar later said that he has assisted the Department of Revenue in identifying Kumki land in the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts and also in making amendments to relevant laws. I have urged the minister to resolve the legal issues immediately and make a filing in the Supreme Court.
