Prof dies by suicide, cites health reason in death note

A 41-year-old professor allegedly died by suicide at her residence under Jnanbharathi police jurisdictional limits.

The deceased identified as Chaitra left behind a death note stating that she was taking the extreme step due to health reasons.

Chaitra’s husband Guruprasad who works as a professor at an institute in Haveri was trying to reach her over the phone since Sunday. When there was no response from her till Monday morning, he called one of his neighbours to check on Chaitra.

When they opened the door they found her hanging from the fan.

Police have registered a case.
