Shivamogga: Bike rider killed in hit-and-run case

Shivamogga: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a bike rider near Gavaturu village in Hosanagara taluk. The incident occurred when an unidentified vehicle collided with the bike.

The deceased has been identified as Sanjeev Poojari (65), a resident of Biliki. The accident happened near Gavaturu Government School while he was en route to Ripponpet from his home. The collision left him with severe injuries.

A police sub-inspector (PSI), passing through the same route, transported the injured victim to Ripponpet Hospital in his private vehicle.

Despite receiving first aid, Sanjeev Poojari succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to another hospital for advanced treatment in an ambulance.

A case has been registered at Ripponpet Police Station, and investigations are underway.
