Team of skaters, on Kashmir to Kanyakumari yatra, reach Kundapura

Kundapura: A team of about 20 skaters under the leadership of All India Grahak Panchayat worker, and Kashi District Mahila Pramukh Soni Chaurasia, who are on a Kashmir to Kanyakumari roller-skating expedition, reached Kundapura on December 9.

Apart from Soni Chaurasia, skating enthusiasts Rajesh, Vivek, Hema Malini, Pushpa Bharti, Mansirai, Supriya Singh, Aditi Yadav, Ankita Sharma, Prakash, Karthik, Sanket Dogra, Ajay, Shyamchandra, Madhu, Neeru, Shashi, Abhishek, Ranjitha, Sachin are part of the team.

The team began its journey from Lal Chowk in Kashmir on September 27 with a goal of reaching Kanyakumari in 90 days. The skaters cover about 30 km on skates every day beginning at 6 AM.

During the journey, the team is engaged in the promotion of the religious, heritage of India as well as promoting environment and consumer protection by planting around one lakh saplings during the journey that will passing through 13 states, 100 cities, and 10,000 villages and towns, Soni said.

On Friday, the team interacted with the students of the Government Pre-University College at Thekkatte.
