Even though knowledge, devotion, and detachment are important for salvation, why did Srimadacharya highlight devotion in his commentary? Although it may start as blind faith, it proves to be very beneficial for one’s growth toward salvation in the long run.

Even if one initially visits the temple out of blind faith, this can become a turning point. In such cases, a kind of attraction is formed. It is the pull of devotion that drives a person to visit the temple. Listening to the glory of God leads to love and concern being kindled.

When there is an interest in something good, one feels the desire to see it. Interest grows according to the nature of the individual being. This is something everyone experiences. This applies equally to the ongoing debate between left-wing and right-wing ideologies. No one becomes left-wing or right-wing at a young age. The inclination towards such ideologies grows according to a person’s nature.

Respect develops for those who advocate these ideologies. One feels the desire to meet them, and eventually, they become leaders. In this way, what started as blind devotion transforms into pure devotion, which ultimately leads to salvation.
