Governor Vala says Nehru's wrong decisions responsible for Kashmir conflict

Bengaluru: Karnataka governor, Vajubhai Vala, communicated that wrong policies and choices of the first Prime Minister of independent India, Jawaharlal Nehru, were responsible for the creation of Kashmir issue, which has irritated throughout the years into a major issue of encounter between the two nations.

Talking at the ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ program for paying tributes to brave Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives battling for the nation during Kargil war on Thursday July 26 at R V Teachers College here, Vala said that no nation will ever confront misery if the main administration is brave and valiant. 

“After the India partition, both constitutionally and legally, the whole Kashmir belongs to India. But, our neighboring nation, Pakistan, occupied significant part of Kashmir territory. Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel had declared war against Pakistan and had occupied three fourths of the territory, yet Nehru, in contradiction of Patel’s advice, declared truce. This in actuality, resulted in reverses for India,” he expressed.
