Govinda Naik B, cluster resource person, who was given an additional charge of the Government Lower Primary School, Meenadi struck upon the idea of painting the school as a train from social media posts about similar transformations of government schools.

Realizing that student strength in government schools is minimal primarily due to its appearance, Nayak thought of beautifying the school and make classes interesting for the children.

The school has been painted in shades of blue with the name Meenadi Express written across the wall. Even the classrooms are designed to look like compartments.

Preparations for the diamond jubilee anniversary of the school, established in the year 1960-61, was put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.
