This new rule will come into effect this year in March.
As per the current rules, a student was only eligible for re-evaluation if he received at least 6% of the overall marks.
Karnataka School Education and Literacy Minister BC Nagesh said, “Every mark counts in today’s competitive environment. In this scenario, the state government has made a “student-friendly” decision that takes into account even one mark.”
“The “Karnataka Pre- University Course State Level Public Examination Rules, 1997” are being amended in this regard, he added.
