India’s Panacea Biotec partners with US firm to make Covid-19 vaccine

Indian biotech firm Panacea Biotec Ltd will partner with U.S.based Refana Inc to make a potential vaccine for Covid-19 Under the partnership, Panacea Biotec will be responsible for product development and commercial manufacturing of an inactivated virus-based vaccine The collaboration aims to make more than 500 million doses of the vaccine candidate, with over 40 million doses expected to be available early next year. The company said that after the CGMP process, the first phase of the human trial will be held by October and they will be able to conduct the third phase of the trial on a large scale.
