Katapady: Police act swiftly, arrest man for murder of fellow labourer

 

Katapady: Kaup police arrested a construction worker accused of killing his fellow laborer over some work-related issues here.

The deceased Ganesh (50), a native of Odisha and the accused Aakan were engaged in construction work near the Katapady-Shirva road.

Sources said the two laborers had engaged in a fracas over some work-related issue on Monday night. Ganesh was seriously injured in the clash that followed. He was rushed to hospital by fellow labourers, but died on the way.

Though Aakan went absconding after committing the act but was arrested within five hours of the crime owing to the swift action by the police.

Police have taken Aakan into custody and is undergoing treatment for injuries he sustained in the clash.
