Kota: Accused attempts suicide to escape incarceration!

Kota: An accused who had committed rape within Sringeri station limits was hiding at a rented house in Kota since two years. Getting clue that Sringeri police were arriving to arrest him, the accused along with his family, attempted to commit suicide. The incident that took place in Kota on Wednesday.

The accused is identified as Prakash, a resident of Sringeri. He was accused on the charges of rap two years back and since one year, the accused was residing with his mother, two children and a woman, at a rented house owned by one Jagganath. When the police reached the house, the inmates refused t open the door and said that the accused was not at home. Later a lawyer arrived and assured that the accused would be presented before the Court within three days, based on which the police left. However, in accordance to the SP’s order the police once again visited the house when the family threatened to commit suicide.

Giving hear to the request of the locals, the lawyer went into the house for talks that is when it was seen that Prakash and the woman Supriya were attempting suicide by hanging. The duo were immediately transferred to Brahmavar hospital in an ambulance.

A case has been registered with Kota police.
