#LetHerFlowAgain trends on Twitter

Bengaluru: Vrushabhavati river, which is now called as ‘Kengeri Morii’ (Morii – Sewer in Kannada) has become a trending topic on Twitter with netizens starting a campaign the river rejuvenation.

#LetHerFlowAgain has garnered 31.5k tweets as of Saturday afternoon.

Team Yuva brigade after successful rejuvenation several rivers in the state has now taken up the task of rejuvenating Vrushabhavati river.

Founder of Yuva brigade Chakravarty Sulibele citing the example of Thames river tweeted, “Many have doubts whether we can see river flowing again? Definitely possible. Thames was the same during 60s. But they took to streets, brought policymakers to their knees finally river of stink is flowing in pure form today. We just need to take lessons from them!”

“Just 45 years back people visiting the Doddabasavanna temple of Basavanagudi Bengaluru temple were taking bath in the Vrushabhavati river before having Darshan of the deity. Now it is just history as the river is completely destroyed and has reduced to a very big gutter. People literally recognize it as Kengeri Mori,” he said in another tweet.

The Twitterati who seemed to be irked by the current state of Vrushabhavati river, expressed their displeasure on thetwitter with hashtags like #LetHerFlowAgain.
