According to sources, on June 24th 2018, Shiroor had written a letter to the district superintendent of police (SP), mentioning the differences of opinion he had with heads of other Mutts here and the Seer suddenly fell sick and breathed his last on July 19th.
In the letter, the Seer explains about the differences over handing back the idols of the presiding deity of Shiroor Mutt. The Seer also mentions in the letter that if anything untoward happens henceforth, the blame would entirely be on the heads of other Mutts.
“On account of my ill health, I had arranged for performing daily puja to the idol of my Mutt at Sri Krishna Mutt, after sending the idol of the presiding deity through the junior Swamiji of Adamaru Mutt. I have now fully recovered from sickness. But the Swamijis of Muttshave not been giving back the idols which rightfully belong to my Mutt,” explains the Seer in his letter.
