Man sentenced to five years jail for rape attempt on his daughter

 Mangaluru: The fifth additional district and sessions court here sentenced a man to five years rigorous imprisonment for attempting to rape his daughter and also slapped a fine of Rs 25000 on him.

Rudolph Pereira, convicted  Narayan Naik for attempt to rape (Section 511 read with 376 RPC) his own daughter after prosecution proved the accused guilty.

Also, Narayan Naik has got four months simple imprisonment and one thousand rupees fine for using abusive words against his wife and for assault, he has been handed down four months simple imprisonment and fine of Rs 500.

On May  2015,  Narayan Naik had tried to rape his daughter at Enmoor, Kadaba taluk. He also assaulted his wife when she tried to stop him.  A Case under POCSO Act was registered in this connection in Subrahmanya police station.
