Mangaluru International Airport to begin flight operations to UAE from Aug 18

Mangaluru: With the issuance of a new travel protocol by the UAE government, accepting passengers from India, who adhered to the prescribed regulations, Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) will begin flight operations from August 18.

MIA was able to start the Rapid PCR- testing centre at the airport after the announcement of the Dubai Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, which made it mandatory for the passengers from India. A total of 30 tests can be done at a time at the new facility.

The first flight will be starting from August 18th by Air India Express. Till now, passengers were boarding flights from Bengaluru, Mumbai, and other airports for travelling to UAE to meet the requirements in the country.

The UAE government, while lifting restrictions on travellers from India, had made UAE residency visa, two doses of vaccination, and RT-PCR negative certificate took within 48 hours before travel mandatory for them to enter the country.
