Model code of conduct: UTK becomes driver for Siddu, others

Udupi: The election model code of conduct kicked in, hours after the Election Commission announced schedule for the high-voltage Lok Sabha elections on Sunday, March 10. Consequently, Congress leaders had to make use of private vehicles as the government vehicles provided to them could no longer be used.

Hence, former chief minister Siddaramaiah, former minister Pramod Madhwaraj and Udupi district in-charge minister Dr Jayamala were seen returning in a private vehicle from the Parivarthan Yatra organised by Udupi district Congress committee at Royal Garden Kalsanka here on Sunday. Incidentally, the car was being driven by U T Khader.
