The DC was speaking at the progress review meeting of various departments on Thursday. A fully equipped control room already exists in the district. Taking into consideration of the calamity last year, the DC directed the creation of a network from the control room, which would send a team made up of good workers to provide assistance to affected areas.
In case of a calamity, the officials must carry out their duties through coordination. Taluk level team must be created which will include the police, firefighters and other concerned departments. Action must be taken considering the natural calamity that has occurred earlier and the present situation. A list on actions to be taken must be created first. Care must be taken regarding sea erosion as well, he said.
