During a press conference, Commissioner Ramesh Banoth emphasized that hotels, restaurants, clubs, resorts, homestay service apartments, apartment associations, malls, and organizations must conclude their New Year programs by 1 am, in adherence to government regulations.
To ensure public safety and prevent misconduct on New Year’s Eve, a total of 36 special task force teams have been formed. Additionally, 8 Safety Pink Garuda (Chamundi Force) units have been deployed to safeguard women. The city has seen the installation of 275 CCTV cameras, with 59 in Mysuru city alone, managed by four teams to monitor key locations and respond promptly to any incidents.
A rapid force, comprising traffic police and experts, will focus on preventing wheeling, speeding, loud noise, and drunken driving. Eight Highway Patrol vehicles will be stationed on the Ring Road, supported by a total of 18 Garuda vehicles patrolling various areas. Checkposts, both on the outskirts and within the city, have been established to keep an eye on potential miscreants.

Commissioner Banoth highlighted that activities such as the consumption of obscene drugs, illegal substances, and gambling are strictly prohibited under the guise of cultural programs.
Security arrangements include the deployment of DCP 3, ACP 12, PI 30, ASP 70, HC/PC 550, and 80 personnel. Twelve CAR squads, four KSR P teams, four Commando force units, and four Dog force teams will also contribute to maintaining security.
In anticipation of the celebrations, the authorities have announced that Chamundi Hill will only be accessible until 7 pm on December 31, with the Tavarekatt gate closing at 9 pm. This restriction, however, does not apply to residents of Chamundi Hill.
