No changes in the lockdown guidelines; websites spreading fake news to invite strict action: DC

Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Rajendra KV on Thursday said that there are no changes in the lockdown guidelines and present rules will be continued till May 24

Recently, a website had published news regarding lockdown in Dakshina Kannada. It said that people here will be allowed to buy groceries only two days a week and there will be no marriages after May 24.

Rajendra KV said that strict action will be taken against websites spreading fake news regarding lockdown under the IT and Disaster Management Act and said that people should not believe in any rumours

He further said that he will write to the police commissioner and DCP (Law & Order) to initiate action against the website
