Orange alert in DK and Udupi; heavy rains likely

Mangaluru: In the backdrop of possible heavy rains, the Karnataka State Weather Forecast, has issued an Orange Alert to the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttar Kannada for September 26. Several areas of the coast experienced good rainfall since the past few days after a short break. Monsoon 2019 has entered into its last phase of September. So far, Coastal Karnataka has been experiencing normal Monsoon, with rains on the excess side by 13%. Form June 1 to August 31, Coastal Karnataka has recorded 3159.6 mm of rains against the normal of 2789.3 mm.
