By the by, these TV’s will not be showing anything related to movies and songs. Instead, they will be sowing seeds of awareness amongst the public. Importantly, it has been decided to display the new plans and schemes of the state and central government, the beauty of Dakshina Kannada district, information on the prominent tourist attractions here, videos related to a clean environment, information of joining the armed forces, information regarding road safety, awareness on voting and other advertisements.
To be installed in even more buses
Though this new facility has been already installed in 7 buses on an experimental basis, there is a thought to install this facility in almost 25 more buses by the end of month of December. Priority will be given to buses which ply towards very rural areas and later the LED TV’s will be installed in buses plying within city buses.

In the first phase, the LED TV’s giving information on to the passengers has been installed in buses from State Bank to Mangaladevi, Bondel, Ullal, Talapady, Konaje (2 buses), Shaktinagar and also in Mangaluru – B C Road – Vittal and Mangaluru – Udupi Express buses.
Aim to spread awareness
“People from the rural areas will not have much information regarding the government schemes. With the aim to inculcate awareness on this, the plan has been implemented in seven buses for now,” said Dilraj Alva, president of private city bus association
