The deceased is a brother-in-law murdered by his sister-in-law and her son on a property-related dispute.
The incident occurred at Peeche area of Peraje village. The brother-in-law arrived inebriated at the house of his sister-in-law and both started a quarrel. When he attempted to forcefully enter the house, the sister-in-law and her son attacked him with kitchen sickle. The brother-in-law died at the spot.
Police officers from Madikeri arrived in the morning and took both into custody.
