“There has been shortage of police personnel in the coastal districts while there is more work pressure. The proposal of staff expansion has been sent to the home minister. The proposal is based on the Bengaluru model as per the recommendation of Dharamveer Commission,” he added.

“There was a meeting with ONGC and MRPL regarding their internal security. We can only provide security for the premises, but not police duties. State government has to provide directives in this regard. Many issues were raised during the meeting. All these matters have been documented and passed on to concerned authorities,” he said.
