Poor culinary skills: Man murders wife

Puttur: In a bizarre incident that occurred in Kallapadav under the limits of Puttur rural police station, a man murdered his wife for not cooking food properly at around 7.30 pm on Thursday, July 18.

The victim identified as Akshata (22) was grievously injured after her husband stabbed her for not cooking dinner properly. Although injured, the victim managed to reach the neighbouring house of her mother-in-law. Akshata’s mother was also present there coincidentally.

Meanwhile, the accused Ganesh followed his wife even to his mother’s place with the aim to stab her again. Fortunately, he was prevented from doing so by the inmates of the house. Soon, the accused fled from the spot.

On enquiry by the inmates of the house, the victim revealed that her husband, Ganesh got furious for not cooking food properly and hence stabbed her. Soon after narrating the incident, Akshata collapsed to the ground due to blood loss through the deep wounds on her neck and face.

Although the victim was rushed to the Puttur government hospital in an auto rickshaw by Akshata’s mom and Balakrishna, nephew of accused Ganesh, the doctors declared her brought dead when they reached the hospital.

Puttur rural police station has registered a case against the husband Ganesh based on the complaint given by Kamala, mother of the deceased. The accused is in police custody.
