“Instructions have been given to fill potholes on 1,332-km of major roads in Bengaluru and the work will be completed by September 20 and road work on 85,791-km of ward-level stretches will be completed by September 30, ” he said.

He further said, ” Around 20 loads of asphalt from the hot mix plant will be supplied to eight zones every day. Engineers must be present during the pothole filling process. The surrounding area of the potholes must be cleaned and quality work must be ensured while filling the potholes. Each pothole has been geo-tagged and the details on where the pothole is filled and its photograph would be available on the BBMP website.”

After attending a meeting with BBMP officials, Ashoka said the pothole situation has worsened as the city has been experiencing moderate to heavy showers over the past couple of weeks.

The move comes after residents of several areas in Bengaluru protested against the pothole situation in Bengaluru.
