Rs 29 crore released to handle sea erosion in Ullal: UTK

Ullal: Rs 29 crore has been released to provide permanent solution to the sea erosion occurring from Kaiko in Ullal to Sea ground and I have already directed the district administration to release funds for the creation of a temporary retaining wall in the areas that may be worst affected by sea erosion during the upcoming monsoon season, informed minister U T Khader speaking after visiting Kileriya Nagar and Sea ground areas in Ullal prone to sea erosion.

In connection to the sea erosion at Ullal, the work on permanent relief has already been completed. However, since the area from Kaiko to sea ground has variations, the retaining wall needs to be constructed first post which the stones will have to be laid. The work will be carried out post a study by experts, said Mr Khader.

Councilors Mohammed Mukkhacheri, Abdul Basheer, Ravichandra Gatti, Jabbar, K P Abdul Khader, TP member Jabbar Boliyar, Kinya GP vice president Siraj Kinya, Ramachari Mogaveerpattana, Kileriya Masjid president Khaleel and Kaiko Masjid president Abdul Latif were present.
