Shop licences to be cancelled if Covid norms violated on more than three occasions: DK DC

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner (DC) Dr Rajendra K V has warned of revoking shop licenses if they are found violating Conid 19 norms on more than three occassions.

The government has emphasised on use of face masks and social distancing as key precautionary measures to control spread of infection. However during the ongoing unlock process, it has been observed that these norms are not being strictly followed.

In this backdrop, the DC has said that the responsibilty of ensuring employees as well as customers use face masks and maintain social distance lies on the shop owner. “Adequate measure must be taken to see the rules are not flouted. A penalty of Rs 1000 will be payable on first offence. Second and third time violation will attract penalty of Rs 2000 and Rs 3000 respectively. If the violations are observed on more than three occasions, the shop licences would be cancelled,” he said.

1. Installing automatic sanitiser system outside shops
2. Daily health-checkup of employees
3. Santising shop premises once in three days.
4. Thermal screening of customers. If any customer displays symptoms of fever their details to be noted and intimated to the health officer of their jurisdiction or city corporation.

On issue of buses, autos, cabs too the DC clarified that passengers must wear masks and follow other rules. The RTO officers must conduct checks to ensure rules are followed. In case of any violation, vehicle owners will be penalised.

Non-wearing of masks attracts Rs 200 fine in cities and Rs 100 in other areas.
