Siddaramaiah slams Centre's decision to export ventilators

Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah slammed the Centre’s decision to allow export of indigenous ventilators citing decreasing fatality rate.

Terming the government as inhumane, Siddaramaiah in a tweet pointed out that in Bengaluru there are only around 800 ventilators while the active caseload is over 50,000.

“There is still shortage of ventilators in Bengaluru also. With active cases at 50,000+ & counting every day, there are only 800 odd ventilators. We still see reports of non admission due to non availability of ventilators. But @narendramodi is keen on exporting ventilators,” he tweeted.

He also attacked the state government stating that there is a strong correlation between increasingCovid19 cases, deaths, lack of infra and corruption by state BJP ministers.

“There is shortage in everything that is needed for #Covid19 management in Karnataka. Whatever is present lacks quality. Should we support @BJP4Karnataka in their mismanagement & corruption? Never!!,” Siddaramaiah said in yet another tweet.

Referring to the toppling of Kamal Nath-led government in Madhya Pradesh and the current crisis in Rajasthan amid the pandemic, Siddaramaiah said “BJP4India leaders are expecting opposition leaders to support their govts in fighting #Covid19. But, why did @BJP4MP not support @INCMP govt during pandemic?

And why are @BJP4India leaders trying to topple @INCRajasthan govt?

He further said that though the chief minister while responding to corruption allegations assured that he will provide all documents within 24 hours but till now not a single document has been received.

Reacting to the legal notice sent by BJP Karnataka unit, Siddaramaiah claimed that the Congress always wanted to take the legal route and their work has now become easier.

“The govt will be under compulsion to submit the documents at least to the court,” he tweeted.
