The deceased has been identified as R Devaraj, a native of Kunigal who works as an ambulance driver at a private hospital. He resided at the second floor of Madhu Complex in Nagendra Block in Hanumantha Nagar for the past three years.

During weekends, Devaraj usually partied with his friends Santhosh and Sunil, who stayed in the first floor. On Friday night, they decided to have a party. Devaraj went to get food from outside and returned to join the party at 10 pm. At 11 pm Devaraj went to the balcony to throw the liquor bottles and food remains to the road. A passerby notices Devaraj throwing all the garbage on the road and abuses him. Devaraj angered by the stranger’s words, shouts back at him. The angry stranger comes to the first floor and both began quarrelling.

The fight turned intense and the stranger shoved Devaraj from the balcony. As the result of the fall, Devaraj’s head hits a rock and blood oozed out killing him on spot. The stranger fled the spot immediately.

The Girinagara police have registered a case under IPC Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and formed three special teams to catch the accused.
