Thieves steal deity's golden crown, other ornaments at Kanhangad temple

Kasargod: Gold ornaments, weighing around 20 sovereigns were stolen from the Lord Mahavishnu temple at Kadinhathur, Kanhangad on Monday, January 13 night.

The incident came to light when the priests arrived at the temple on Tuesday morning to offer morning rituals to the deity.

It is gathered that thieves gained entry into temple premises through the roof and decamped with the deity’s golden crown along with other ornaments. The unidentified thieves had also broke open the donation box.

Police are conducting an investigation.
