Due to the second Covid-19 wave, Air traffic movement (ATM) at Kempegowda International Airport dipped by 46% in May.  Only flights under the Vande Bharat Mission and air bubble pacts are presently operating.

On May 1. 310 flights operated at KIA and on May 24, 142 flights were operated. The decline is mainly due to the lockdown from April 27 and passenger numbers dipping and flights being cancelled.

According to a post-analysis report by the Airports Authority of India, air traffic saw a dip of 29% in Delhi and 30.9% in Mumbai.

ATM includes passenger and combination of flights including cargo, international, domestic, air taxi and commercial business flights at six major airports at Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Chennai.
