Mangaluru: “If the BJP MLAs have any concern for the people of coastal districts, they should allow a discussion in the legislature session and demand grants for the projects to be started in the district. It is wrong to stage frequent protests and walkout even as chief minister H D Kumaraswamy read the state budget for 2019-20 on Friday,” said Dakshina Kannada district minister UT Khader on Saturday Feb 9th.

“If the MLAs fail to raise their voice in the session, then it will be an injustice to the people of the district. Instead of the welfare of the people of the state during the presentation of the budget, the BJP was engaged in politics. The BJP wants to create confusion ahead of Lok Sabha polls. Hence, they are least bothered on participating in the discussions during the budget,” pointed out Mr Khader.

Khader lauded the budget and said that the government had given enough importance for the development of Dakshina Kannada district. It is a far-sighted budget by including special package for paddy growers, earmarking funds for the development of Panambur and Sasihithlu beaches and a feasibility report on Metro rail in Mangaluru.

Speaking on the issue of the audio clip Khader said, “The Speaker will take a decision on audio clip. As the audio clip has mentioned the names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah and judge, it should be discussed in the Parliament as well.”

“Attempts are being to destabilize the state government since the past few months. The attempts to lure MLA’s top topple the government will not succeed,” assured UT Khader.
