The deceased has been identified as Nirmala who was married to Vishwanath a year ago. She was a native of Mysore and stayed in Bengaluru after marriage. Vishwanath worked in a private company in Japan. It is said that Vishwanath used to often visit home to spend time with his family and had last visited in the month of December.
The police said that Nirmala left a suicide note stating harassment by her in-laws. After Nirmala committed suicide, her in-laws came across the suicide note and tore it. Later when the police investigated the spot, they discovered the pieces of the note.
The police have registered a case and arrested Nirmala’s in-laws on the charge of destroying the suicide note and damaging the evidence.
