The railway terminal named after Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and claims to give passengers an airport kind of experience.
It will have a waiting hall, a VIP lounge with a digital real-time passenger information system and a lavish food court. Also, it will have its own water recycling plant with a capacity of 4 lakh-litres.
The ₹314-crore station building is modelled after the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. The terminal will have seven platforms, apart from eight stabling lines and three pit lines. Every platform is 15m wide and 600m long.

Also, the parking area would be able to accommodate as many as 250 cars, 900 two-wheelers, 50 autorickshaws, five BMTC buses and 20 cabs.
