Bengaluru: A huge eight-foot-deep hole was created in the middle of the road as it caved in at JC Road, Bengaluru on Thursday, December 16. Due to this, traffic was disrupted for several hours in the area.
BBMP officials visited the spot and the work to fix the pothole has also begun. The BBMP engineers denied the allegations claiming the road was not maintained well.
While one of the senior BBMP engineers claimed that it was a case of subsoil erosion another said that such problems cannot be easily detected as water seepage happens beneath at a depth of at least three to four feet.
Officials also assumed the cause to be due to the leakage of a waterline. However, it was ruled out after BWSSB engineers inspected the spot.
