Addressing a programme of the Mangalore City Headmasters’ and Pre University College Principals’ Association, Shivaramiah said that the concept has been now implemented by Belagavi, Hassan, Tumakuru, Chikkaballapur and Kodagu districts and the department is now considering implementing it in the remaining districts in the State.
‘No bag day’ will be on Saturday and the students will come to school without their school bags. On that day, the students will be involved in activities related to the syllabi taught, make use of the library and the laboratory. Parents and teachers have received this concept well and the activities to be held on that day have been planned by the teachers.
Belagavi, Hassan, Tumakuru, Chikkaballapur and Kodagu will have “No Bag Day” twice every month. Principal Secretary to the Department of Primary and Secondary Education Shalini Rajaneesh intends to have this concept to be introduced in other districts of the State from the next academic year, informed Shivaramiah.
