The train services were disrupted on the stretch since July 20 owing to mudslides alongwith boulders owing to heavy downpour. A boulder which was placed precariously and would have fallen on the tracks was blasted by using a compressor. As many as 80 labourers were involved in the work of blasting the boulder and clearing the debris despite of the bad weather.
The first landslide during this monsoon had occurred on July 4 and services resumed a day after. Another landslide had occurred on July 9 affecting the services, which again were restored the next day.
