The seer, who was speaking to reporters said, “Wherever public money is utilised, such places must come under the scrutiny of the law. This rule has been temporarily postponed, but it has to be implemented by any government, which comes to power soon after the next assembly elections.”
Defending the government for coming out with a public notice on the issue, he said its move had been misunderstood. He said that the government had only acted on the basis of a court order. Any government would have done it. The move was not to bring mutts into government custody, but to bring their administration under the Muzrai department. Sri Pejawar Seer and Sri Virendra Hegde have reacted emotionally. He also questioned that when mutts need government land and its facilities, why cannot they accept its rules and regulations?
