The Central Crime Branch gathered information about that ganja was being trafficked from Andhra Pradesh into Mangaluru with aim to sell it to students and other citizens, so the personnel went to the spot opposite Omega Hospital near Pumpwell Circle here and took into custody Junaid (30), son of Abdul Rahiman K V, resident of Chirukandath House, Hasanmuku, Koyyode, Kadachira post, Kannur district, Kerala, who currently lives near Mantri Mahal, Sheshadripuram, Bengaluru, and Abdul Kareem (25), son of Ibrahim Beary, resident of Balandoor House, Kudmar post, Puttur. Two cellphones and 9.5kg of ganja was seized from them, bringing the total value of items seized in this case has been estimated at Rs 2,39,000.
The police discovered that the accused had bought ganja from Andhra Pradesh and transported the same to the city via Bengaluru.The culprits and the seized ganja has been handed over to Kadri police station for further action.
Of the two accused, Abdul Kareem already faces a case of robbery registered in Bellare police station, and another case under Arms Act and hatching of conspiracy in APMC police station, Belagavi.
