Udupi: Kerala Governor Arif Khan to be chief guest at Sri Krishna Masotsava closing ceremony

Udupi: The grand Shri Krishna Masotsava, which began on August 1st as part of the Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations under the auspices of the Sri Krishna Matha, is set to conclude on September 1. The festival, led by the head of Paryaya Sri Puthige Matha, Sri Sugunendra Theertha Shripada, along with the junior seer Sri Sushreendra Theertha Shripada, has seen the successful completion of various religious and cultural programs.

As part of the closing ceremony, a special Udayastamana Seva will be held for Lord Krishna on September 1.

During the event, Udupi District Brahmana Parishat and Padubidri Tarangini Mitra Mandali will organize a Lakh Tulsi Archana and recitation of Sri Vishnu Sahasranama.

As part of the cultural program, a classical music concert by Vidushi Sadhvini Koppa, runner-up of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Season 15, will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM. This will be followed by a Kathak dance performance by Divya Bhat, a dance director of Samyuka Sansthana (UK) from 3 PM to 5 PM. In the evening, from 7 PM to 9 PM, there will be a Bharatanatyam performance by Vidushi Divya Suresh from Sweden, said Matha’s Diwan Nagraj Acharya and Secretary Prasanna Acharya.

The closing ceremony of the Sri Krishna Masotsava will take place at Rajangana from 5 PM onwards, with Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan attending as the chief guest.

Moodbidri MLA Umanatha Kotian, MLCs Dr Manjunath Bhandary and Pratap Simha Nayak, former ministers Pramod Madhwaraj and Vinay Kumar Sorake, and former MP Jayaprakash Hegde will also be present as guests.

Harish Bhat and Prabhakar Adiga of Mangalore, representing the Padubidri Tarangini Mitra Mandali, will be honored with the Sri Krishnanugraha Award.
