“In 2016, there was a statewide ban on single-use plastic by the state government which is applicable to BBMP limits also. Implementation has not been in top gear,” Randeep was quoted speaking to ANI.
“Now, we are ensuring that any user of plastic, be it domestic or big eateries or manufacturers, all this should completely cease. Even the user will be fined and discussions with plastic association, plastic manufacturers, users of plastic, online shop vendors, food retailers is also done,” he added.
Any person using single-use plastic will be bine and fines can go even up to Rs 50,000 in case of a repeat offender.
